Shimano Dura Ace Groupset Driving the ZX-1 forward is the Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 groupset, the chainset received a complete re-design. Now featuring Shimano’s iconic 4-arm hollow spider that is made from hollow-forged aluminium, the crankset has a perfect balance of low weight and stiffness. Like the crankset, these Dura-Ace 9100 shifters have received an overhaul to improve ergonomics and shifting efficiency. The re-designed brake hoods are now more comfortable to grip, especially for those with smaller hands. The shifters also offer up to 14mm of reach adjustment. The Dura-Ace R9100 rear derailleur takes the Shadow technology from its mountain bike range and introduces it to the road. The shadow design places the rear derailleur under the chainstay and cassette to give a slimmer profile, which not only helps with aerodynamics but also offers extra protection in crashes. The front mech has been redesigned to be smaller, more efficient and provide faster and crisper shifting. The internal toggle mechanism provides greater clearance for larger tyres and it now features a built in cable tension adjustment bolt meaning there is no need for inline barrel adjusters. Shimano Hydraulic Disc Brakes Coupled up with the Shimano R9100 drivetrain is a set of the all new Dura Ace hydraulic brakes, Using the new flat mount standard the Shimano brakes work on a dual piston braking system allowing a lighter and better performing brake. Coupled up with 160/140mm Shimano’s rotors and IceTec pads these brake will not let you down when you need to stop no matter what the conditions! DT Swiss ARC 1100 Carbon Wheels and Schwalbe Pro One Tyres Featuring 12mm thru-axles front and rear, which optimise this bikes power-transfer. In addition, it rolls on ultra-efficient and lightweight DT Swiss ARC 1100 Dicut Carbon wheels with Schwalbe Pro One Microskin tubeless tyres, which provides the ultimate in race-attacking performance. Prime/Ritchey Finishing Kit Finising the ZX-1 off Vitus have spec’d its very own custom carbon aero seatpost coupled up with the Prologo Dimension T4.0 saddle, making sure you are as comfortable as possible whilst in those long rides in the saddle.
